2024 Casa Setaro Falanghina “Campanelle” Sauvignon Blanc This is the Cazes secondMassimo Setaro is seeking to transform the zones reputation and bring the wines of Vesuvio the modern day recognition he feels they deserve. Looming over the vineyards is the only active volcano in Europe, Mt Vesuvius. The soil, unforgiving volcanic sand is inhospitable to phylloxera and provides a backdrop of smoky minerality in all of the wines. This makes for a masterful pairing with grilled seafood.
