It is an Irish blend consisting of Single Irish Pot Still Whiskey and Grain Whiskey. The Black Barrel matures in charred Bourbon barrels. All Bourbon barrels are charred. The barrels for the Black Barrel are charred again before the Jameson is filled into them. For perfection, the Black Barrel also benefits from Sherry casks.
